Polarbit and Pixelbite's Reckless Racing series is arguably one of the best top down racers available for the iOS. But in July of last year, they released a more replay-centric arcade racer that focused more on destruction and track memorization than fast times, Reckless Getaway. It quickly became one of my favorite iOS games, and still is to this day. So last Thursday, when I woke up and saw that there was an update available, I quickly downloaded it, and checked it out.
For $0.99, you'll be given a new gameplay mode with two new chapters, more stars to collect, new vehicles, new achievements, and a new leaderboard. Granted, going through the new iTunes reviews is extremely saddening, seeing this rise in selfish iOS gamers over the last year, expecting to get everything handed to them for free, and for developers sole purpose in life be made to please them after they throw a dollar their way (I could go on and on about this, but I won't), this update is fantastic. The new levels definitely add more content and replay to the already high content/high replay game, and if you're a fan of the game, the extra buck goes a long way, offering hours more of entertainment. If you haven't nabbed the game yet, it's priced at $0.99, and definitely worth picking up, even if the Reckless Racing series rubbed you the wrong way. Reckless Getaway a-whole-nother beast, with very different gameplay.
