With as many Match-3 games as there are in the AppStore, you'd think that like Physics-Puzzlers, we'd be sick of them already. But I just can't help but get excited whenever I hear about a new Match-3 title that's going to hit the store. This week, it's Linkies, a new Physics-based Match-3 title developed by Visual Dreams, developers of Herman the Hermit, Slam Dunk Basketball, Bubble Filter and for other smartphones, Fruit Dodge and Hoops.
Linkies will feature extremely responsive and smooth line drawing controls, having players connect groups of 3 or more of the same blocks in order to clear them out. With multiple power-ups and items thrown into the mix, as well as the physics based gameplay, it should make for a pretty interesting title.
Visual Dreams has also let their graphics team go nuts, meaning that the visuals should be great, and judging from the screen shots and trailer, they really are vibrant, and have a great environmental backdrop. That also means that Linkies will not be available for older iOS devices, though nothing too intense; the game is playable on basically everything except for iPods/iPhones built before the 3rd Generation iPod Touch.
Linkies will feature 90 levels spread across 5 different environments, Story and Blitz Gameplay Modes, GameCenter and Facebook integration, and will be Universal.
You can expect to read our review later on in the week, but until then, check out these great screen shots, and the trailer. You can also visit Visual Dreams Official Website for more info on Linkies and their other projects.
