Scorching Skies, the new Aerial Combat/Simulator from Overpower Studios hit the AppStore last Thursday. Unfortunately, the game suffered from a cluttered UI, frame-rate issues, and lag, even when playing on the new iPad 3. However, the developers over at Overpower Studios have been hard at work gathering feedback from players, hoping to turn a would-be flop into what it has the potential to be; one of the best Aerial Combat games to ever hit the AppStore, and, just last night, submitted an update to Apple.
The only info we have about the update right now is that 'probably the experience will be better' and 'a few fixes have been made' - so we'll have to wait and see what all was actually changed, and how much it will effect the gameplay. We do know that the developers have not changed the tutorial, which is still just a video that you can watch, but that a new tutorial will be added in a future update, and 'lots of new stuff is already in the works', so we'll really just have to wait and see. But if the developers can make the gameplay match the graphics, Scorching Skies will easily match up with Sky Gamblers and Fractal Combat as one of the top Aerial Combat games for the iOS. If you've already bought Scorching Skies, hop on over to the Overpower Studios Facebook page and let them know what you'd like to see tweaked or added to the game.
**NOTE**
We just received an e-mail from Overpower Studios letting us know what changes have been included in the update that was sent to Apple a couple days ago;
>Improved Performance
>Fixed Issue with the Tutorial Button
>Fixed Issue with the iPhone 4 opening the 4S build, causing loads of lag
We were also told that the update after this one will include a new tutorial and revamped interface, which should take care of almost all of the issues brought up from players. There are still some other minor tweaks and fixes that I'm sure we will all come across, but for now, this is great news!

Wow! That game looks frigging awesome!
it looks like this video on IGN is from the beta version. The video as they first uploaded the game to the app store last week is actually this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jQgvwd3l-I&list=PLZXRfFG6zb9huOFrrJiTdv2A65j-SIFfY&feature=plcp
